Amazing Celebrations

Help me give my students amazing celebrations for our units of study. The Wind-Up Chicks and Bunnies will bring Spring to our classroom. Each student will be able to adopt an animal with the Pencil erasers.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school has over 500 students in grades PK-5. In addition to regular education classrooms, we have a Dual Language classroom in every grade. We are located in the South Bronx. We are a Title I school. More than 80 percent of the students at our school receive free lunch. More than 70 percent of our students are Hispanic and over 25 percent are Black. Our students are at a financial disadvantage.

My class has a group of special students in the school.

They are new in the country and have language barriers, academic needs, and financial needs. They are forming new cultural identities while they work in their English, math, reading, and writing. They work hard every day and they are super eager to learn.

My class needs different ways to get engaged and motivated.

My Project

Student engagement is key to promote learning. The materials in this project were chosen to foster engagement in my students' learning.

Help me spark joy in learning with materials that bring joy, imagination that is carefully weaved with the curriculum.

The wind-up animals and animal erasers will spark joy, imagination, and curiosity in their animal reports. The car racing decorations will motivate students in our Racing Into Nonfiction Unit. The books go along our units and not only complement but enhance the unit. Students will be engaged and hook in each unit with your help.
