This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the sweetest, most loving kids! They come from all walks of life. Many of my kids have experienced things that no child should ever have to deal with. My school is a title one school and a vast majority of the students come from low-income families. All students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite the different adversities my students face, they still come to school with a positive attitude, a smile on their faces, and a hunger to do better.
My kids make me excited to come to work every day. They motivate me to not only be a better teacher but a better person.
My Project
My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books, earbuds, and other materials have been chosen with my students in interests in mind. I have asked the class what types of books they would like to see in our library and have watched what they've been reading throughout the year. Having interesting books to choose from will motivate my students to continue reading and help them become stronger, radiant readers.
