Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Literacy is an important component within the primary grades. Letter recognition and sounds are important for students to learn but also recognize through the use of books.
My students love to look at books and explore each page to see what they can discover.
Often times books with pictures fascinates them because most times they can recognize an animal, object, or color. The excitement that resonates through their facial expressions is wonderful.
Through the use of the alphabet book set this helps to connect letters and letter sounds that we are learning in the classroom.
Big books are eye catching because students are able to visually see the pictures better as I read the story. Often times as I read they point out to certain pictures that I mention.
Through the use of these books in this project it will help my students gain knowledge and understanding of literacy concepts when reading.
