Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at an amazing, diverse school where my students love to read! The school that I teach at has many different types of students who come from many different walks of life. Regardless of their situations, these kids have so much hope for their future and education. This school has wonderful kids who are going to make such a difference in the world. They are kind, caring, thoughtful, intelligent and all around a great group of individuals. I am such a lucky teacher to be at such a supportive school with such awesome kids.

My Project

These books will add to our growing library and will support my kids by providing reading material and a reading space for them. The classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy! They read with others there, work there, and love to lounge and read independently there.

Every book that is placed in my library is treated with care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read.

All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I observe their interests and have asked them to complete a book survey so that I can get a better idea of what books they want and need. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time and grow as learners.

My students will be able to choose books that interest them and encourage them to read. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an interest in independent reading. They cherish DEAR time and continue to read every book that is placed in our library! This project will greatly benefit my students now and to come. Thank You!
