Emotional well-being is just as important for our students. Every day I see students struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health issues that keep our students from not being able to participate in their academics. Students benefit from being able to write down their feelings in journals, mindfulness coloring, and headphones to listen to music or block out sounds.
Mindfulness tools will help my students learn strategies and skills to be successful in their environment.
New studies suggest that mindfulness education, lessons on techniques to calm the mind and body, can reduce the negative effects of stress and increase students' ability to stay engaged, helping them stay on track academically and avoid behavior problems. Kids will have positive chips/cards, social/emotional games, breathing exercise cards, and much more.
