Alternative Sports Education

My students need some new games to play! I look forward to teaching my students about team work and good sportsmanship through the use of sports they have never experienced like Lacrosse and Polo!

My Students

My students at my high school are very special people who have already endured such hardships in their young lives, they are the most resilient people I know. Many of my students have immigrated from war torn countries, refugee camps and foreign countries. My students are hard workers, fast learners and they deserve the best that I can give them.

The student population at my school is very diverse, we have students from 15 different countries and there are 20 different languages.

Along with the students from different countries we also have American students that have the opportunity to bond with students who are culturally different then themselves. My school offers an experience that no other school can match.

My Project

When I introduce Lacrosse and Polo to my sport teams all my players will be at the same skill level, beginner. My team has never played these challenging games before, it is when I will learn most about my players, I will get to see who my true leaders are and who is a team player. The lacrosse scoopers will teach my players to look for the open person, the Lacrosse sticks will teach them how to throw with accuracy.

My students will have to work together and individually to increase their skills and improve as a team.

In order to become successful in these two sports. I do not tolerate losing on my team, but I promote learning. Once my team learns how to play together they will be able to achieve anything together! When my team learns a new sport together they learn about themselves and their teammates. The best thing I can give my players is a chance to learn about someone else.
