My Students

I love my students because I learn from them and they make me a better person. I love teaching! My students keep me young... each year I change my plans and adjust my instruction to meet the needs& personalities of my classes. I teach our lowest level students and our highest level students. My lower level economics students challenge me to find new ways to help them successfully navigate the classroom & rigorous curriculum at MPHS. My highest level economics students challenge my own understanding and force me to dig deeper into academia.

My Project

My students have a wide range of abilities and arrive at school with a cornucopia of emotional histories. Students need to be comfortable in order to learn; students need to have their basic needs of food, heat, health, and emotional well-being satisfied in order to learn. These chairs will help give my students an additional space in my classroom for them to learn besides their seats, where they have to stay most of the day because of the pandemic.

By contributing to the purchase of bean bag chairs you will help students meet the basic need of emotional well-being.

I have an area in my room with a lowered ceiling & dim lighting. Last year I purchased two bean bag chairs from Walmart for this area. The chairs were a huge success! The students loved them and treated them with delicate respect. Despite this care the chairs lost their fluff and stability. I would like to replace the Walmart chairs with these larger and more durable chairs that are made for adult daily use.
