My Students

I work at a public elementary school outside of Atlanta. I teach 30 5th grade students who are energetic, curious, and thoughtful. My students LOVE talking and never fail to make each other laugh!

I want to provide my students with an environment where they feel comfortable to be themselves and realize that they all learn differently.

Each of my 30 students are unique. More than half of my students receive special education or gifted services. No matter the obstacles they are all overcoming, they come to school each and every day ready to learn!

My Project

My students struggle to sit still and focus for long periods of time. They love to get up and move around the classroom.

I do my best to incorporate movement as often as possible, but with 30 students it can get chaotic.

During independent work time, students get to move around the room and work where they can do their best work. My students currently sit around the room on the floor with clip boards or lap desks, on a bench in the library, or on the front carpet. The items that I have selected will provide my students with additional seating options. These items will especially benefit the students who just need to get their wiggles out!
