Our school has just over 300 students enrolled in the PreK through 4th grade elementary school. Students are given many opportunities to discover the world around them.
My second grade class will be made of about 15 unique students who will be eager and excited to explore their learning each day.
Our school is filled with teachers and staff who are dedicated to giving each and every student an opportunity to succeed to the best of his or her unique ability.
My Project
I have learned that many students learn their best when they are able to move around the room and find a space that is comfortable to them. For some students, it is hard to stay focused and sit still when they are in a confined space like a regular desk. Right now, my students lay on the floor with clipboards or find a different table to sit at.
Each child has a unique way of learning and it's important for them to explore their learning in many different ways.
Donating to this project would help my students explore their learning and find what works best for them.
Flexible seating would give my students more choices to work around the room. It's amazing what a student can accomplish when they are given more choices to truly do his or her best. Flexible seating would give these students those choices.
