My Students
I teach at a Title I school in Washington where one hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My group is both diverse in their backgrounds and their learning needs and abilities.
I want to make sure that I can reach all of my students in whatever way possible.
My students have a variety of different deficits and have difficulty with not only learning, but interacting with others positively. While some have the necessary skills, many do not.
My Project
Students these days have difficulty staying in one place and often times get the wiggles. As such, I want to be able to provide my students with the ability to have a choice when it comes to their seating. Having alternative seating arrangements for my students means that they can focus on the learning and not get distracted by their bodies. These items will allow my students with sensory needs to get their sensory needs met.
Students will be able to choose these additional seating methods as needed and can use them as alternative chairs or items that will help them stay focused.
Additionally, I have included a set of math blocks/cubes to help students better access math content and material through the use of manipulatives that will help them understand concepts visually.
