My Students

I teach in a high count free and reduced lunch school. My students are bright and inquisitive! They come to school focused and ready to learn. We work hard everyday!

We love reading!

We grow and change in first grade, and literacy is our main focus. We have realized that reading a good book is a lot like writing a good book. Our writing is descriptive and meaningful.

During our writing and reading time, we are often sitting on the floor, spread out for comfort, however, we currently spend a lot of time on the tile floor or the carpet.

My Project

Our classroom is a fun, energetic place to be! We will be using the ball chairs during our reading time in order to give us an active yet comfy place to sit, We need a way to focus our eyes, minds and bodies while we concentrate in our crucial first grade reading year!

We are always on the move!

I am requesting a pocket chart to help us organize our literacy "station rotation". We are constantly changing positions and places in the room to work. By changing our spots and our seating in our room, this helps all students continue to be fully engaged throughout the day! Stackable stools will help our writing area be a tidy yet productive area.
