Help me give my students alternative seating and fidgets that will help them focus in the classroom. The wobble stools will be an amazing tool for my students to be able to wiggle while learning in small group.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a resource room teacher, I work with students who face unique challenges in their learning environment. Many of my students have difficulty focusing for extended periods of time, which can lead to frustration, distraction, and disengagement. To better support their learning needs, I am requesting funding for essential tools that will help my students thrive: wobble seats, floor seats, and fidget tools.
Wobble seats provide an alternative to traditional classroom seating.
Wobble seats allow students to engage in subtle movement while still staying seated at their desks. This motion helps students, especially those with attention-related challenges, to self-regulate their energy and focus on tasks. Instead of squirming in their seats or feeling restless, students can use the wobble seat to channel their energy in a productive way.
Floor seats offer students the flexibility to sit in a way that feels most comfortable for them. Many students in the resource room struggle with traditional desk seating for extended periods of time. By providing a floor seat option, students can choose a seating arrangement that suits their individual needs. This encourages students to feel more relaxed and confident, leading to better participation and success in their lessons.
Fidget tools can make a world of difference for students who struggle with maintaining focus. These small, discreet tools allow students to channel their restlessness or anxiety through tactile movement, without distracting others. By having access to fidget tools, students can self-soothe and stay engaged in lessons, without needing to leave the room or become disruptive.
Together, these resources will create a more inclusive, dynamic, and student-centered environment.
