Do you remember sitting in your high school history class wishing that it was more interesting and engaging? Technology is the present and future of our world and I need more technology in my classroom to get my students excited about the past and its impact on the future.
My school is diverse in many ways.
We have students from a range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. After graduation, some plan on going to college, while many will pursue jobs and the military. Over the last few years we have had a significant increase in students taking Advanced Placement courses and a large percentage of students will graduate with Career and Technical Education certificates. As a district we lack funding for significant increases in technology and this presents a major challenge in getting students excited and interested in actively participating in learning.
My Project
The iPad and document camera will allow me to integrate technology into my classroom on a daily basis in my Holocaust Studies, American Government, and United States History classes. Students will be exposed to more hands on, student-centered, and technology based education. Students will be able to do research and have access to the Internet in my classroom and instantly share their findings with the class. Content on the iPad can be projected using the document camera and our classroom projector. This will allow for a more student-centered and student-lead approach to learning in my classroom.
Your donation will make a major difference on a daily basis in my classroom.
The addition of an iPad and document camera will change the way I approach teaching every lesson and will get my students interested and excited about learning more about history, the world they live in, and the impact that they can have on the future.
