Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach moderate to severe preschool autism, and I have some pretty amazing students. They love the alphabet, and we've been working hard at learned all of our letters and their sounds in and outside of the classroom. I have a few alphabet learning toys, but not many as I would like since I am a first year teacher.
These supplies would be a perfect addition to our morning rotations and outside play, as I can tell they are getting a little bored of the repetitive ones we currently use daily.
Many of my students started their first day of school as non-verbal, and the alphabet letters have been some of their first words along with a corresponding word! "A for apple!". I would love to keep building on their alphabet knowledge, phonetic sounds, communication, and fine motor strength with these amazing Montessori and outdoor toys.
With the water and sand table, I would love to place our alphabet manipulative into some water for some "alphabet soup" learning outside the classroom walls!
