This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Aloha ʻāina. On August 8, 2023, a fire started that destroyed Lahainatown and surrounding ahupua'a - Puamana, Wahikuli, Lahaina, and more. One school was destroyed and many homes, businesses, lives, and pets were lost. We lost our harbor. We need to stay strong and rebuild. Our Keiki can help our town by planting native plants for our hometown.

The goal is to have students learn about community health by planting native plants and helping restore our beloved Lahaina.

We will use these items to grow plants for our hometown. They will learn the importance of native plants, sustainability, growth, and community. This will help heal our community.
