I teach at a Title I school in Kentucky where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students, like most, are intrigued with technology. They become excited and curious because they feel like they're in control of their own learning. These students will flourish academically at a greater pace if my instruction was reinforced with technology on a daily basis.
My Project
Remember sitting at your desk as a student as your teacher went over a boring powerpoint? Those days are gone! Now, students can create their own slides to show understanding or create a short book review on video. I can now send the Powerpoint to each of their Chromebooks and make my lesson interactive with students.
The options for using Chromebooks in a classroom are endless and exciting!
With the help of technology, I can track student progress much more effectively and make customized assignments. Students expect and deserve active learning with immediate feedback and that's one of the great features of using technology. If all the students had their own Chromebook, they would be more engaged and motivated on a consistent basis, which will increase their achievement and self-confidence. They would also become more prepared for technological requirements in the future.
