This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It's almost time for my fifth graders' , many of which are students with diverse special needs, to make their biggest transition since kindergarten! They are preparing to leave the cozy nest of elementary school for the wide-open spaces of middle school. This can be a daunting and trying time for students, especially this year!

As my students enter this period of adjustment, we prepare for important changes not only academically, but also emotionally and socially. My kiddos have been working hard all year to attain their goals, recently they've been working on an end of year kindness rocks and essay project to gift to their peers on the last day of school. It is my goal to have an end of year celebration with graduation banners and inspirational messages where each and every student will be recognized for their individual talents and will receive an inspirational graduation gift bag filled with requested goodies (snacks, supplies, treats, graduation trinkets, bracelets, etc.) as they transition into middle school.
