Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The past two years have not only produced a lot of psychological trauma in our students but have also resulted in lost learning, reduced motivation, or an increased addiction to social media and video games for many. With these obstacles in our way, I would like to make sure students' basic needs are met by having small snacks, personal care items, and fidgets on hand to give them when they're hungry, feel embarrassed about their hygiene, or need to focus in class.

As most educators know, hungry or dysregulated students won't be able to focus on learning until their basic needs are met first.

By having snacks such as fruit snacks on hand, I can show students I care about them and take care of their personal needs so they can be the strongest learners they can be. If they need to brush their teeth or use some deodorant, I'll be able to help them with that, too! Please join me in supporting our equity-focus students and letting them know we care about them!
