My Students

Hello, I have been teaching for 22 years and have been able to watch each of my students grow and develop into successful, happy adults. I love being a part of their life and then being apart of mine. I teach in the hometown I was raised in. It’s a small rural town and have the same students year after year in various science classes. I love seeing the passion for science develop in them. I truly care about each of my students. Being that I teach in a very small town I get to know my students on a very personal level and because of that become more than a teacher of science. I become their cheerleader, family, nurse, police, and guidance counselor.

My Project

I have some hyper active children in my middle school science classes that have a hard time during notes and discussion and during test taking. By allowing them to sit in these wobble chairs they can wiggle without the worry of tipping over in their chairs, breaking the legs off of the chairs or distracting others. Helping both them and others stay focused on classroom discussions, note-taking, and testing. Wobble chairs allows students to fidget safely so then can stay focused for longer periods of time before needing a break. These chairs make a huge difference in being able to focus for students that are hyperactive.
