Being a kindergarten teacher, I often have the privilege of being a student's first teacher. I am honored to be their introduction to a classroom setting, and I don't take this opportunity lightly. My top goal is to instill a love for learning in each student that is in my classroom at any part of day.
My wish for each one of them is to receive a spark of something that they are interested in whether it be connected to language arts, math, science, social studies, or the arts.
The environment that I create in my classroom is intentionally geared to spark a passion in each and every child.
My Project
Each of these items that you will be supporting will foster many different life long skills in my kindergarten students. Flexible seating comes with choice, self awareness, responsibility, and respect. Often times these young minds are being told what to do and how to think and how to feel throughout their day. During their very formative days in my classroom, I would like to allow them opportunities to do just the opposite. I would like them to be allowed to discover what is best for them as far as their own learning environment. I want them to learn to recognize what helps them be the best life long learners that they are capable of being.
