Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are a fun bunch of 4th graders who come to school every day ready to learn and eager to participate in all of our classroom activities. They have worked hard on their literacy and math skills all year, but they have not had adequate access to extracurricular activities like art and music.
This project would give my students access to high quality art supplies that can help them showcase their creativity and grow their appreciation for art.
As we approach the end of the school year, I would like to reward my students' hard work with a memorable art activity that allows them to create something they can be proud of. At our school, a majority of students come from low-income households, so many families cannot afford art materials. I want to give students the opportunity to participate in this extracurricular activity to help provide them with a well-rounded education that sufficiently represents the arts.
