My Students

I love my students. They are inner-city children from the south side of Chicago who are eager and ready to learn.

They want to be successful and proud of the work they do.

However, they don't always have the necessary supplies needed and lots of times they have to use whatever is available to get the job done.

My Project

Donations of these much-needed supplies will help bring my students' work to life. They will create Interactive Reading, Writing, and Social Studies journals that they can be proud of. The composition books will be used to share what they learn in our SEL and Conscious Discipline Programs.

Interactive Notebooks allow students to use a variety of learning methods at one time.

When students come to school unprepared many, are ashamed to say they need materials and just act out. When all students have quality materials, there is no bickering and divisiveness. Students willingly work together, they learn more and they remember what they've learned.
