My Students
My students are back in person and love coming to school each day. Located in Washington, DC they are able to see so much of the city as they commute to school on the school bus. Unlike many of the students who attend our school, my students have been in the classroom with me for nearly three years, looping every year. It's been a great experience watching them grow academically and socially.
We are running out of ink with our classroom printer and the ones in the office have been a bit temperamental.
To alleviate paper jams, we are asking for a supply of ink to last us for the remainder of the school year.
My Project
This is an ink-only project! With this being our return to in-person learning, I am seeking to address any loss of learning that students may have experienced while being away from school. To do this, we have been differentiating our work heavily in the classrooms. Students are taking homework with phonics and comprehension in reading. They are being provided with visual strategies to address weaknesses in math concepts and they are also provided with posters for writing strategies.
In class, we continue to deliver instruction to address all learning modes.
We want to also be able to capture these moments at home as well. With the packets that I am preparing, each student is able to progress at their own independent level both inside and outside of the classroom. Parents have asked for, and have received, additional resources to assist them with extending the learning at home as well. With winter break coming, I am sure that they will need more resources in which I am happy to oblige!
