Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths pure theater." This is a quote that I live and die by in my classroom. While preparing for each lesson, it is important and necessary, to keep my students engaged and happy. However, the right amount of energy and obvious dedication to my career and students is even more important.
In a classroom of 32 second graders, providing meaningful experiences for each child is paramount.
Every day should be full of both learning and fun while providing an environment providing the safety, love, and confidence each student needs to thrive.
This year, I have a wonderful group of gifted and talented students that are full of incredible thoughts, ideas, and interests. It is my hope that through this project, I can offer them some enrichment into a jam packed day of curriculum.
My Project
In second grade social studies, we spend most of the school year discussing New York City history over time. We started back with learning about the Lenape natives living where our city exists today! But we're coming to the end of the school year and quickly approaching our study of Immigration.
We need resources to give us a more complete picture of NYC history in the late 1800 and early 1900's!
Please give to our project to help provide multiple copies of fourteen more great read alouds and books the students can easily access to learn more about the waves of immigration that made our nation larger than ever expected.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
