This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want to add colorful writing materials to our classroom for all my budding writers. My kindergarteners are developing their writing each and every day!

Their illustrations that were once attached to scribbles have now progressed to more defined writing, whereas some students are beginning to write simple sentences independently.

Research emphasizes providing ample opportunities for writing in kindergarten with integrating writing across the curriculum, and focusing on both composition and mechanics to foster early writing skills.

My students are mastering the foundational literacy skills and are ready to begin writing sentences, paragraphs, and eventually, stories!
