All the Small Things

Help me give my students some extras that my classroom budget doesn't cover. Batteries, bags, headphones and chairs help our classroom run smoothly.

My Students

My students are amazing young kids who sometimes come from situations they can't control. They experience trauma which causes academics to take a back seat. I am a Kindergarten teacher so my classroom is sometimes their first experience at school. My students are developing social skills as well as academic and most importantly, resiliency to cope with their past trauma.

My goal as a teacher is to create a safe, fun and nurturing environment where they can develop a love for learning.

My Project

Good teaching requires differentiating lessons and appealing to students interests in many different ways. I need additional headphones to utilize classroom computers and online learning programs as well as books on CDs. At our listening center, I have three comfy chairs but our reading groups have four students so I need an additional chair. I need batteries to run the CD players and STEM toys we have. STEM is a current focus and we need additional LEGOs to inspire creativity in my students. I've used my classroom budget to create a listening library and need the extras to make it work within my room.
