My Project

For the first time, the students at our middle school will be designing, writing and publishing their own newspaper as a part of an enrichment project for gifted students. This project will be led by our 8th grade gifted students and will be provide a positive outlet for all students in the school to communicate and create. Tools like cameras to document school events, voice recorders to capture interviews and newsprint to print copies of our newspaper will all help these students gain real life experience as they create their newspaper.

My goal is to guide these amazing students as they explore the creation of a new school newspaper and practice informative writing, gain valuable leadership skills, and flex their creative minds.

Publishing their own newspaper will allow students to highlight school activities and their fellow students in a positive, creative forum that will benefit all students in the school and generate a culture of open communication much needed in any middle school.
