My Students
The community in which I teach is small, rural, and full of very humble, hard-working students and their families. This group that I have the honor of teaching are highly inquisitive learners that gravitate towards engaging stories that they can identify with, and some that take them beyond their wildest dreams. I have the amazing opportunity to expose them to ideas and concepts that may otherwise be unseen.

Our school is dedicated to empowering students and helping them to succeed. I strive to give my students the chance to learn new concepts and experience new things daily. Even though I am the teacher, I have definitely learned so much from my students.
My Project
I LOVE finding a good read aloud to help me teach a hard skill like "Making Inferences". Books also help to build a class community or teach social skills such as, how to be a friend or the importance of accepting others. Also, books are just fun ways to unwind and travel to another time, place, or take a walk in someone else's shoes!
More engaging literature in the classroom will help my students see and build connections.
Reading aloud to students helps to foster a love a reading. I truly believe that the key to success. It is vital for continued learning, and my goal for all my students is that they become "lifelong learners"!
