Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class consists of 15-20 amazing students in an engaging and diverse community. I am a special education teacher teaching students with learning difficulties, attention deficit disorder as well as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. I am currently a co-teacher, so this project would benefit regular education students as well. My students are learning to grasp a growth mindset as well as acquiring lifelong skills. At this time, they are engaging in school in person as well as virtually. We are in education at a unique time when the world is changing as well as in chaos.
My Project
The students I teach all have different learning styles under their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Many of my students have a hard time focusing when it comes to projects or tests because they are hyper sensitive to the noise. By having noise cancelling headphones students who need the accommodation are able to give their best effort to their work.
"Distractions be gone!"
Having headphones available for student use will ease the anxiety of students if they cannot afford to have them. Headphones will also ease their anxiety when it comes to completing their assignments.
