I work at a rural elementary school that serves K-5 students. Many of my students come to school asking for basic items to help with their hygiene. Students are often requesting deodorant, brushes, combs, wipes, and lip balm to take home since they are not provided these items. It seems silly, but these items help students feel more confident in their hygiene. They don’t spend all day worrying about their hair being a mess, their face being left unclean, or having a smell when these items are easily available when they need them. More and more students are using my hygiene self for these types of items and they are so appreciative to have them on hand.
