I am a special education teacher that works with 38 unique and naturally talented students in 5th and 6th grade with various ability levels. They are all hard working and have dreams for success and a good education. Though our area suffers from poverty leading to factors that disrupt the family unit and home life, my students know a good education is the key to a better and bright future. Some of my students struggle academically in all areas because of their identified print disability. Others need to be challenged and enriched. Since we live in an age of technology, it is important to introduce all student to STEM with hands-on projects. With differentiation, all students can explore and be exposed to topics that are pertinent and feel success.
My Project
It is my firm belief that all students can learn in class no matter what their learning style is or their exceptionality. Multi-sensory learning and especially hands on learning provides the richest experience for all my students. It is my goal to introduce students to various STEM projects to open up new worlds for them, and for them to become passionate for subjects that they have always struggled with. No matter what their socio-economic status is or obstacles they face, I want my students to know that they can be successful. We appreciate your support of any kind. Thank you so very much.
