Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a diverse and high poverty population. They are hardworking and enthusiastic about learning. Every day, they come to school despite hardships and engage in rigorous instruction. Our students take pride in our school. We are their extended family and they count on us to educate and guide them everyday. We have a large group of immigrant students. They are in our classrooms with little or no English skills. Despite their struggles, we perform at a high level.
My Project
This project will help support getting books into classrooms and into the hands of our students. There is nothing better than having high-interest books that students can pick up and enjoy. Reading is the most essential gift we strive to create in schools.
This project will help support enhancing background knowledge, vocabulary, and most importantly creating a LOVE for reading to our students.
Thank you for supporting this project and the students at our school. I know that by providing books we can open up new pathways that will last a lifetime.
