My Project
Each year, I facilitate a persuasive writing unit. One of the best parts of this unit is when my scholars create their own businesses and then create posters that convince customers to buy what they are selling. Furthermore, throughout the unit, my scholars use Canva to create other visuals that persuade individuals to their side.
This year, we are requesting a printer, so that we can print out student work and make it visible.
Printing out work, allows my scholars to feel successful about themselves & it allows them to go home knowing that one day, they too, can have a business and be financially literate and aware of what it takes to persuade others to their side. I'm also requesting bins for their folders and notebooks as well as clipboards so that my scholars can conduct gallery walks on different businesses.
My scholars this year, are excited to go out into the world and build their own businesses. They are even taking "marketing" as an elective, so I know they will be excited about this upcoming unit. I know getting this material will make my students understand that they can be successful no matter what.
