My students need a variety of flexible seating (stability ball chair, exercise ball), personal hygiene items (essential oils, toothbrush holder) and general classroom supplies (card stock, lamination pouches, zip pouches and clipboards).
Our medically fragile class ranges from autism, severely handicapped, intellectual delayed, multiple disabilities, speech language disabilities and other health impairments. Since there is a range in grade levels and abilities, we often have to do centers. I’d like to have a flexible seating and desk options for my students in each center. Having different flexible seating and desk options provide more student engagement leaving them room to move about and learn at the same time which can be beneficial to all students.
My Project
My students would benefit from a variety of flexible seating. Having the stability ball chair and exercise ball will give my students a way of getting their extra energy out while still focusing on their assignments. We are also requesting some personal hygiene items such as essential oils for our classroom diffuser which the students like to use for calming them and a toothbrush holder to hold their toothbrushes on since we are working on essential life skills. Lastly, we are requesting some classroom supplies such as card stock to print our picture cards and schedules on and the lamination pouches that we laminate the schedules and pictures cards, zip pouches to organize all of our picture cards and the clip boards to display the students daily schedules on.
Receiving these essential items will benefit our students tremendously by having them focused and organized and being able to follow the daily routines and rituals.
