My Students

Our students are amazing! They are excited to be literate members of our community and our future. We are fortunate to have a variety of cultures, families, and grade levels in our building. The students work collaboratively to move forward. Students come to school each day bringing their own history, stories and background knowledge with them. Every child is unique and we teach students to appreciate their uniqueness and enjoy each other for who they are. Kindness is always a theme. We are family!

My Project

My first grade students work daily in pairs, small groups and in large groups. These two tables would help me establish areas for our reading groups and allow for students to have a table for small groups to work on table things like PBL projects and collaborating together. I’ve been teaching for 22 years and lots of things have come and gone but our tables have remained the same! These tables would allow my students some voice and choice of where they could work with partners, small groups or when working with other adults on specialized instruction! These tables would offer students two other types of flexible seating in our classroom!!
