Help me give my students hands on Science centers. After being in and out of the classroom these last few years I want to give my students some hands on learning tools for our class.
My students come from a widely diverse range of families. Although I have such diverse students they all have one thing in common, a love for learning. They are kids who thoroughly enjoy being at school to discover new adventures. They are motivated and have such joy for solving new problems each and every day. These kids love to having learning tools that meet the needs of all different levels. They come to school each day making each day delightful!
My Project
After these past few years of being in and out of the classroom I want to give my students some hands on learning stations. I believe students learn the most when they are actively engaged. These science centers will keep them engaged and promote higher level of thinking in my classroom. I know that the last few years have been hard on these students. Science is one thing that there just wasn't a whole lot of time for. I want to show them that love for science once again by these hands on centers. I am also looking to get hand held phones to help my students record their learning on their Seesaw journals.
It is so powerful for students to be able to share their process of thinking with me as their teacher, and connect that to their parents as well.
They will be able to work at the science centers , then record and share what they have done using the hand held phones that connect to the iPad. This is would give my students the power to use their voice of learning. Not all students want to walk up and share to me their thoughts on the lesson , but being able to record into their own journal it truly empowers them.
In conclusion, we can help bridge the gap of learning by providing these hands on tools for my classroom this year, and for many years to come.
