Help me give my students counting chips, dice, unifix cubes to help support math at home, as well as write on wipe off boards to practice phonics and writing skills for virtual learning.
Our first grade classroom is alive with eager learners! These excited and eager early learners are ready to hone in on their reading skills and take on the challenge of becoming stronger readers as well as exploring the world around them through science and mathematics! There are 40 various languages spoken in the hallways of our school on a daily basis. It is located in an inner city of Philadelphia. In our first grade classroom, we have 5 various languages intermixed among our vibrant and eager to learn students. In our classroom, we value education and are ready for the journey to becoming thriving citizens. We love to explore the world around us through all subjects.
My Project
Virtual learning for first grade will have its challenges, however, with these materials in each student's hands they can be fully engaged. These materials will help me to support their needs at home. With these materials they will be able to manipulate and practice basic math and writing skills.
In first grade we use a hands-on approach to learning, we see, we practice, we explore and we manipulate to better understand.
With the white boards my budding readers and writers will be able to practice their skills and share them with their classmates virtually. With math materials in their hands at home, they will be able to explore and practice math skills live with their classmates.
