Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Fifth grade math teachers are put to the challenge of teaching grade level instruction to a classroom of students where some may be extremely above and others are below grade level. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to have some students performing on a second grade level, some on grade level, and some at a sixth grade level. In this situation teachers are expected to teach at a student's instructional level and provide them grade level instruction.
To increase the amount of students that are on grade level, students need to be motivated to learn and need to be provided with a variety of ways to engage in the instruction.
By funding this project you will:
-make sure all students have access to a variety manipulatives
-allow students to see math instruction in a variety of ways
-help to provide accommodations for students success
-provide tactile experiences for diverse learners
-enhance engagement with math games and a variety of activities
