Help me give my students some amazing new art supplies and sensory materials for free exploration.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Regal's classroom raised $243

My Students
I have been teaching kindergarten for 28 years in an amazing school, which is located in a low income community. Despite the often sad circumstances some of my students face, they are beating the odds every day. My students are bright, friendly, and extremely eager to learn new things. They love to explore and learn through play and hands-on experiences, which is the way it should be for a group of 5 and 6-year-olds.
With the current trend being all about test scores and less about letting kids be kids, I feel it is my duty to make learning as meaningful and engaging as I can for my students, while also making it fun!
My Project
Knowing how important it is for kindergarten age children to learn through exploration and play, I would love to provide my students with some amazing new art and sensory materials.
Each new item would be added to our math and literacy centers as part of a “can do” sensory break after completing their assigned “must do” tasks.
Giving them a little time to be creative with kinetic sand and play dough will help get my students ready to transition to the next activity more easily. The arts and craft materials will be used during the prop-building portion of our play-based curriculum. We use these props to dramatize various stories and fairy tales. We can use the picture frames to highlight pictures of some our amazing “acting” moments.
