This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students are full of joy, excitement, and an eagerness for learning. I have so much fun teaching and learning with them. Our school is 92% economically disadvantaged and 79% English Learners. My class is a diverse mix of students, including English Learners, students receiving special education services, gifted and talented students, and students from around the world.

My students have unique personalities, and they're all very sweet and caring toward others.

Thank you in advance for helping me provide the best educational experience for my very deserving students.

My Project

Hands2mind VersaTiles is a fun, hands-on way for students to learn how to read. Students manipulate the tiles, creating patterns to check their work, while they challenge and grow their thinking. Students will be able to advance through the lessons at their own pace, making their learning relevant and individualized. By incorporating VersaTiles to our Literacy Nights, students will be able to combine their favorite things: fun, family, and learning.

These activities make learning to read fun for students and their families while reducing the pressure of homework.

VersaTiles will encourage family engagement and improve my students' reading development. They will create positive, memorable experiences with their families at school.
