Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher in a Title 1 school, I do my best to make my students happy, and keep them healthy, energized, and even warm on colder days. Thanks to Donors Choose, I've collected hats, gloves, scarves, sweet treats, and even some clothing!
I run a no-cash Thrift Store where students can "purchase" gently used clothing, games, books, and treats with PBIS Rewards points earned for showing persistence, accountability, communication, and team-building skills.
Twice a month students will come to the Thrift store and use their PBIS points to "purchase" anything their hearts desire.
I am in the process of organizing the store to get it ready for the 2024-2025 school year but desperately need storage that can be locked when not in use. These two, two door lockers will help me organize, maintain, and keep safe our items.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
