Help me give my students an end of the year STEM Glow Party!

My Project

As we approach the end of the year, I would like to celebrate all of the progress my students have made academically and socially. To do this we will have a STEM Day Glow Party. This party is not only going to be fun and vibrant, but it will be a day full of STEM activities! We need all of the decorations included to make our room come alive.

Students will be engineering, researching, and solving realistic mathematical problems all day!

The black lights will be used to make the neon colors in the room glow! Students will research how this actually works and then report their findings to the class! All over the room, there will be different stations that have different challenges the kids must complete. In one of the station activities, the students will participate in the Neon cup stacking challenge. This is where the small neon cups come in handy! They will work together as a team to build a structure that will not easily tumble.

Using the highlighters, they will complete highlighter mazes, highlighter shape drawings based off a written description, and make as many words possible with the given letters. They will also complete end of the year review activities using the high lighters.

As a final reward, the glow party back packs will be used to send home materials that students can use to practice their reading and writing skills over the summer.
