I am a 5th-grade teacher of students who have diverse interests and learning abilities. My inclusive classroom is made up of wonderful learners who all have personal and academic goals that they strive to achieve. They are creative, thoughtful, and extremely inquisitive. They enjoy exploring all academic subjects in many different ways.
Many of my students are hands-on and visual learners.
They really benefit by incorporating hands-on materials into our lessons. They love using technology in the classroom to enrich their learning experiences. Technology is a powerful tool in their learning and they aren’t afraid to use it. Being in the 21st century, these children need to be exposed to a variety of tools that will engage them in our world.
Our school has only 2 electrical outlets in each classroom. We currently try our best to accommodate uncharged devices with the use of a single outlet hub. There are wires all over and we don't have a system in place to safely hide the cords. This creates a tripping hazard when we have 32 students bringing in devices each day.
With the addition of a charging station in our classroom, we can use only one outlet and be able to charge up to 16 devices at once.
More importantly, a charging station will create a safe learning environment by organizing all of the charging cables and cords for a classroom free of hazards. We want nothing more than to have a safe learning environment for our students.
