My Project

Reading is an essential part of the learning process in my special education classroom. I have a small classroom library that my students use on a daily basis. I have been granted some funding that has helped me to purchase some new books for my classroom library. The students had so much fun helping me pick out all the new books that we would order. Unfortunately, the funding would not allow me to purchase anything except for books, so we are in great need of a way to store our new books. Help me give my students a rotating bookshelf and floor shelf with storage bins for their new class library.

Having students excited about reading makes my teacher heart happy.

They can't wait for our new books to arrive! We have a 'book party' planned where they will get to spend the day exploring all the new books and writing book reviews about their favorites.

All the books in my classroom library will be cataloged, so the students will not only have access to them while in my class but they can also check them out to take home and read. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
