My Students
Let me introduce us... I am a new fourth-grade teacher to my school community. I noticed that the students had the basics but I would love to branch out to get my students excited about our classroom learning environment. This is a k-8 rural school in Wisconsin where half of my students come from economically disadvantaged families. Having the ability to move around and team-up will help them grow their love for math and science.

I would love to provide my students with options that meet their learning needs and update our classroom at the same time! Because when you have something new and cool, just like anything else, you will be excited about the next step...The learning!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, the students and I will know exactly where our math manipulatives will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The large carpet will be placed in the front of the classroom and used as a gathering place during our math lesson and as an area for students to work with their peers. The stools will be offered to students, so they may work where they are comfortable.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in math.
By implementing these small tweaks to the classroom organizational system, I am hoping that students will be more willing to access the math manipulatives for each lesson while having a new, student-friendly workspace throughout the room to get them excited to do hands-on math. In addition, I hope that having these items more accessible to the students, that the students that are struggling in math and science would be more apt to go and get items from the cart to use during math time since the students will be more spread out within the classroom. There are so many small tweaks to the classroom that I would love to do, but I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
