My goal for 2024-2025 school year is to encourage students to think outside of the box and encourage them to look and feel deep within. By nurturing students emotional and mental wellbeing in a safe space, students are willing to talk about their successes and challenges with a trusted adult. Keiki in our community are extremely resilient and have overcome some of the greatest challenges. When they are at school, my hope is that they always know that they have a safe space to go to.
Keiki in our community thrive by being in a safe and inclusive space where they feel comfortable to share their feelings with adults and peers.
Teaching our students about Social Emotional Learning (SEL) allows them to dive deeper into their feelings and how it impacts them and others around them. SEL Books, sensory tools and social group games are a great way to teach students skills about coping, self-regulation and using "tools in their toolbox" when faced with challenges. The books requested in this Donors Choose continues support the efforts towards SEL learning in our keiki.
