My Students
School should be a fun and exciting place to learn new things. I want to give my Kindergarten students many opportunities to learn and become well-rounded students. But who says learning can't be fun also?!?! We want to have fun and learn a lot.
I am currently teaching Kindergarten to 19 wonderful students that are excited about learning.
They are very sweet and have a strong desire to learn. My school is a low socio-economic school with about 80% of the students receiving free or reduced lunch. When some of my students entered Kindergarten, they had never been to preschool and some had never been in an environment with children other than their siblings. I want to provide them with opportunities to learn everything they need to know to be successful and improve their social skills.
It is very important for Kindergarten students to have hands-on materials to enrich their learning experience. Their attention spans are not meant to sit on a rug and listen to a lecture. The best way for them to learn is to have interaction with their subject and get involved. The children get so excited and are ready to learn when they have opportunities for hands-on activities.
My Project
I am asking for different science, math, writing, and dramatic play materials. The new science materials will help the students with life cycles, the states of matter, living and non-living, and plants/animal knowledge. The math materials will help with counting skills, number recognition, and telling time. The multicultural food is for our dramatic play/kitchen center. This will help the students socially, develop vocabulary, and expose them to other cultures. The white boards and writing paper will be used in writing activities and can also be used with other subjects. With these new supplies, we will be all-around awesome Kindergarten students.
When you help our classroom, you will be changing the lives of these wonderful children and countless others in the future.
You will make a difference and help these children build a strong foundation that leads them to success in the future. Please open your heart up to these children, so they can have new and meaningful learning experiences!
