My Project
Our Title 1 school has a thriving band program but our baritone horns are starting to show some usage. In particular, the cases are wearing out. One of the cases has 1 hinge left out of the 3 hinges that is not broken off, and one has a handle that has separated and broken off. The students need to be able to play without having to worry about the edges of the hinges or not able to carry it home to practice because it has no handle. Sometimes we have more than one student (in different class periods) using the same instrument with a different mouthpiece as we have a limited number of these baritones horns which play the important bass parts along with the tubas.
The baritone horns are an important part of our band and are in danger of being damaged when the hinges give completely out or they drop the whole case again when the handle(s) give out.
We have had cutbacks to our funding this year, and can really use your help to keep the instruments playing, because it is All About That Bass and Keeping Them Safe. Thank you for reading and helping our students to continue making music at our Title 1 school.
