My Students
Our Norfolk, Virginia Pre-K students are amazing and resilient! We are located in a dedicated military town. All students have risk factors that qualify them for our program. I see the sparkle in their eyes when they login into the computer. Distance teaching is challenging, but with hands-on materials, we can help them thrive!
My Project
One of our objectives in Pre-K is learning all about shapes. With students having individual geoboards, rubber bands, and pattern blocks, our Pre-K students can replicate the shape activities offered in a face-to-face classroom.
Exploring pattern blocks and creating various designs will stimulate our children to think outside the box using their imagination.
At the same time, students can share their designs and creations with their friends on Zoom creating a sense of classroom community!
Each student having these materials at home during school closures will increase engagement with virtual learning and build confidence. Learning shapes helps children identify and organize visual information. It also helps them in other areas of understanding signs and symbols. Please help bring geoboards and pattern blocks to our youngest students.
