This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are so fortunate to have two large windows in our classroom with trees outside. Our students have become so excited to see the birds visiting the trees and have become very inquisitive. With that said, I would love to add bird feeders, bird feeder stands, bird baths, and a large variety of books to help my students learn all about our local birds. Additionally, I would love to incorporate a planting activity to have students grow flowers that attract birds as part of our lesson. We would love to document the different types of birds that visit the bird feeders by photographing and printing photographs for our Science Area. We are asking for a small photo printer to allow us to do this as our current classroom printer does not print in color. Having informational books will better help us identify their names and learn more about each bird type. We are also asking for bird food so that we can replenish the bird feeders. We are so excited to learn more about birds!
